You might be right. I've ground the valves on small engines, where you just put lapping compound on the seat and spin the valve in place, but that's only for a little touch-up not for a burned valve, new valve and seat or worn valve guide. I might be wrong but I always think these little Japanese motors have to have everything exactly just so because they run so fast and put out so much power in a small package. Also, the aluminum heads usually warp and need to be surfaced. Still, it would be nice to have my own valve grinding rig like a Sioux from the '40s for working on the old simple stuff.
