mopar had series of engines. -1 -2 -3 and
-4. I think the 251 only went up to -3. what that means is how may heavy duty parts it has like speical valves and exhaust valve rotators, heavier duty exhaust manifolds, heavy duty timing chain or simply straight timing gears instead of chain and gears, hand picked blocks, heavy duty oil pumps, heavy dity oil filteration system. For example they were so confident in the 361/413-3 and -4 in the 60 they warranteed them for 100K in commercial vehicles!
