You can look down the throte of the carb when the truck is not running. Hit the gas linkage and should see a nice squirt of Gas. Again the engine does not have to run to check the acc pump. Bill. PS on the spring issue I save all old carb stuff so if its night right I just go to my goodie box. If the old spring is OK I would just use that one. Its the rubber or leather seal at the bottom that goes bad. Good Luck.
