I had a new one fabricated (second from rear) from 3/16" plate and installed it. More info in my link.
Not horrible to remove if you're not worried about saving the original.
If I were to do it again I wouldn't make it as wide as I did, and would probably change the end plate design slightly but it should work just fine as is.
