I think you better stick with the 14:00 singles. A lot of it has to do with having good tread and also the weight of the vehicle.
Look at the snow plows going up and down the road. They load the cargo box clear full of sand and gravel.
Duals have to break additional "track" through the snow.
The potato farmers south of me use the 14:00 singles in the soft sand, and reduce the air pressure. However I am not sure if reduceing air pressure for the snow would be a good idea or not.
