There is a local yard by me that is pretty much all pre-1975 stuff. Mostly late 40's thru 75 still in there, but quite a bit of misc older stuff in the teens, as well as tractors, and still lots of old military stuff. The guy who owned it died a few years ago, and his son now has it. They have had a few auctions to try and liquidate the inventory, Not many cars sold, due to a high reserve put on them at scrap price, so there is probably about 2,200 cars still in there. The son is just crushing EVERYTHING now...Its sad. He been trying to sell his dad's old yard, but wants over $500,000 for it, and that is just for the inventory. Since its on the intersection of 2 major state highways, he wants to keep the land, but lease it. I was trying to get some financial backing for it last year, and walked thru it, and they were crushing at that time. Some of the nice old treasures I seen them destroy was sad... I tried to make him a deal to let me pick parts from the cars before they crush em, and ebay em and split the money, but he would not even bite at that. I tried talking to alot of the locals to go in on it and we all buy it, but no go. The pic below is of a 60 D-600 rollback in the yard that is in pretty nice shape.
