I bought a Hypertherm 1250 and it's done all I have asked for it. the only thing that wasn't so good was the 25 foot torch lead went bad and cost $630.00 to replace.
I'm the only one who has used it and it was VERY well taken care of and about 5 years old. When I bought it, in less than a month Hypertherm sent me mailers to "upgrade" to a new and better torch lead. (At that time it was %500.00) Didn't think much of it and never got it.
While talking with the repair guy at the welding supply store that I've bought at for years, he was REAL honest with me. He said he couldn't believe I still had my original torch lead. I asked why and he said they had a load of problems with them and they had replaced most of them within a year. He said Hypertherm was aware of the problem and that's why they sent out the flyers.
Needless to say this has left a bad taste in my mouth with Hypertherm. In my mind, they should have stepped up and recalled the torch heads or at least replace the bad torch leads for the labor costs instead of making the buyers pick up the tab for their defective part.
Do you have a 1250?
