"There's room in the hobby for all types of owners, vehicles, and maybe even prices. My 2 cents."
I agree with others Dave, well said. Myself, I can appreciate all the different camps we have represented here. From the:
"don't change a thing" group
"Upgrade" group
"hardcore offroad" group
"I use my truck for what it was disigned for" group
"Collect all the trucks I can get" group
....and the list goes on and on with combined variations. I always find it interesting how most say they wouldn't sell their truck for anything and it's the best ever made but when someone tries or wants to sell they shouldn't ask much.
In the grand scheme of things I was always amazed on the price of these trucks compared to other vehicles. The reason why is on how many were originally produced. Along with most were used hard by owners and have a hard time surviving in undamaged form. Take most any brand X truck of the same vintage and compare prices.
I also chuckle at how some say the truck is overdone and in the next post someone says they should have done this or that. We all do it and I've learned over the years not to step on someone else's dream or vision.
A friend of mine always put it a little harsher. He's say "Where's yours?" or "Put up or shut up" to people who would be too vocal on their opinions.
When you stop and think about it, these trucks are what America is supposed to be about. Different people with different visions/ideas on what they want AND the freedom to be able to do what they wish.
