Not hard at all! I swapped a '73 IHC Dana 70 front axle to my '55 C3pw. The spring mount pads match the Power Wagon dimensions perfectly. The tread dimension however is a problem. The hub to hub length is much wider on the later axle. I dealt with this by making new hubs and adjusting the wheel backspacing.
