Good point. And good suggestion on the string. I assumed he knew that, but....There are lots of pole buildings built up here with no concrete around the posts.
I filled in around mine with dirt, tamped it well, about 3/4 up then filled the rest in with concrete when I poured the slab. But depth of the hole should be greater here because of frost. The only frost you guys get is on a glass of Lone Star.
