the trend with collectors of "collector cars" is to preserve rather than restore
a very good friend & well know collector & racer of 50's sedan cars told me the other day
"its only original once"
when we were talking about my 48 flat fender.
unrestored they have the dings, dents, & character that a 50+ year old piece of construction equipment should have.
hell i even left the old butts in the ash tray (doesn't look oe) but it is in the dash
butts & all
this is just my opinion of course
