repair of second series PW bed sides

I have a question about repairing PW second series beds. The one on my 53 B4 is dented along the top that flares out to a rolled edge which also is showing signs of rust thru. My question is, should I have someone try to hammer out the dents or should I consider something drastic like cutting off the flared bed top and hame new metal welded in. How would I ever get the rolled edge. Anyone been in this situation? Any ideas appreciated. Otherwise the bed is solid and dent free. Thank in advance
