The Selctros ARE superior to the Superwinch hubs. No doubt about it.
However, there is a school of thought concerning the weakest link in the chain theory.
Let's assume you have put enough stress on the front axle to start breaking something. Do you want it to be something internal? Especially 100 miles from the nearest tow truck and garage? Or do you want something external to break? Like the less-than-bulletproof Superwinch hub? The Selectro hub will break AFTER something internal lets go.
