Just buy a 73 or older that has a current registration and swap bodies,, a body swap might take a weekend if you want to take alot of time,,I've done a body swap in around 8 hours of nonstop work. register your new 73 or older in your name and you will be driving your original chassis and motor with a diff body and diff title. Chassis numbers really don't mean a thing because if you ever run into a problem, which you wont, you can say that the chassis was cracked and you had to go to a wrecking yard and get a different one. Your original pink slip and registration is no longer needed because it is a smog year title...lose it and use the pre smog registration for your "new truck" that does not ever need to be smogged again...I drive a 1968 PW that has a 1975 body,,no smog ,no problem.
