WOW!!! This is the biggest crock of BS I have ever read in this forum!!!!!

First diesel fuels require MORE additves than gasoline. Pour point depressents are need to keep the fuel flowable, and anti microbials are very expensive and without them you will have little "zoo monkeys" clogging your filters and the injectors. Also heavier fuels DO NOT contain more BTU's as they have more junk in them and that junk requires energy to burn and never burns completele as "soot " developes. Also JET FUEL is a mixture of diesel fuel and GASOLINE!!!!! The difference between JP4 and JP5 is the percentage of gasoline to diesel. One more point.....gasloine is already being injected right into the combustion chambers, all cars sold in the USA today are direct fuel injected to meet EPA clean air requirments, and direct fuel injection of GASOLINE was first done BEFORE THE DIESEL ENGINE WAS INVENTED!!!!!

And, Charlie, you can run your PW on kerosene or diesel fuel and it will run just find, as a matter of fact it will develop more torque!!!! You are right about one thing, that gasoline ignites with a bang, were diesel fuel will ignite and continue to burn and push the cylinder down with an even force. That is why a diesel engine develops more torque than a gas, and you will get that same result if you burn diesel in your PW.

A little history lesson....early heavy use engines were made to be started on gasoline and then when they warmed up you switched the fuel over to distalate. This was common on tractors up to the early 1960's, and in some third world countries are still being produced. I have an Allis_Chalmers, and old Fordson and a Minny Moline with an industrial Chrysler 6 in it that are all dual fuel engines. They run excellent on diesel fuel although they do smoke a bit.

If you want the story on oil follow the link below. Although some of it reads like stero instuctions, it is factual and put out by the leading company in additives for oil products.
