Before i would ruin(destroy) or modify a origianl set i would just roll a band and bolt them neatly along the original holes, this is how i've seen many wreckers done(tow trucks)
Or buy a set of repops from that guy in kentucky. Which i hear may have new repop's exactly like originals in about 10 years, since he bought that wire edge machine.
