My hand crank turned it about 180°. There is a roller fairlead in the way, so I can't get the crank in to the next 'claw'. So it may be good, for now. Maybe tomorrow I'll putter around with the flat head, see if it will run.
I don't have room to scrap out a bread truck, and any other way to go 'chrome C' is cost prohibitive. But under a tarp in the back yard is a 6.2L GM diesel V8. A yard stick says it will fit. And it will bolt to a Chevy bell housing.
And, odds are slim, but my chassis might have 4.88 in the axles?
At this point, I am not committed beyond the price of scrap. But this is a dumb way to get a carryall, it's not economically sensible. But I do need to be kept busy, and Power Wagon Yoga, pumping iron, working off 40 pounds, would be a good use of my time. $10,000-15,000, I can recoup, plus 50¢ per hour.... it will be like getting paid to work out!
