Ok. Why does a 1949 PW fuel gauge have 3 terminals on the back? I set out to test my gauge before doing anything else, and discovered that. I figured the two wires going back to the sender were a ground and the signal wire.
I planned to unhook the gauge from the truck wiring, send 6V to it, and ground the sender terminal to see if the gauge registered. I still plan to do this, but the third terminal has me a bit confused.
