Since, with all the modern preventative medicine, the death rate is still ONE.
If some rate drops, something else has to rise.
If modern life is sooo poisonous, how come we keep getting longer and longer life spans? Pushing 80 now, with better living through modern chemistry.
For instance, my pail of carburetor cleaner no longer has chlorinated hydrocarbons. Now it has Trimethylsulphate. Nasty stuff that TMS, it is made in the human body. It's a by product of the break down of protein. But boy, you don't want to read the label on the can- makes it sound like it will cause retroactive sterility to your first born male child. All lawyer speak, but the stuff in the can is actually much safer than the old gunk.
But hey, I don't recall ever hearing that the cancer rates among mechanics is any higher than the standard. Have you?
