somebody asked on the pw adv. where to get duallys, since I had some once and they were stock wheel that the previous owner had moved the centers out and welded in place leaving an inch between tires, I simply posted that this is probably the way to go if you want duals if you can't find any. the only other thing you have to do is have a machine turn down the outside ear of the brake drum so the inner dual will slide over it. if you use 750s you don't have to do this as you don't need to move the center out as far and they bolt up without bumping into the brake drum
agreed dually 900s is overkill but if you really wanted a monster wc63 I think running dually 750 with the 5.83s would be a tractor and then some, course you would not have the ground clearance of the 900s but the earlier trucks had 750s and seem to do ok
Yes the singles with the centers moved looks stupid but dually look good
I ran the duallys on my 47wdx flatbedd and had overload springs on it and would just part it on the job site and fill it up with trash and haul it off when she was full. Truck looked like a monster and it was a monster, too bad it was stolen from me.
