Markings found on case... A capital C, nestled in a capital V, both on a raised diamond. To the right and down... "72", raised on a raised faux-riveted plate...to the right and up, a capital U. Below and right "11 92624" somewhat stylized numerals. Can someone hopefully id the diff? Big question; found old (PO) tool marks where pinion seal is installed. Edges slightly raised. Best approach? Oh, and a curiosity too. I found the machining for the pinion end slightly, maybe a quarter, 3/8 inch, offset from the casting. Any concerns?
