Well, I got stuck with a cold engine one day after skiing. The old air cooled VW just wouldn't start and, after several tries, I was worried about running down the battery.
I had a small propane camp stove. I fired up the stove and placed it under the engine being careful to keep it some distance from the engine. In about 15 minutes, the engine was warm enough to start.
