I probably have told this before here, but you probably have heard of Lafferty Trans. on Lake C'dA. They owned several tug boats and a couple of party boats, one of which was the Mish-A-Nok.
I spent a few months working as an employee of the company doing remodeling of the inside of the boat. I built up a sufficient amount of UI to be eligible to draw a certain amount after the 5 quarters passed. So, when the 5 quarters were up, I went in to apply for the benefits and then was told I wasn't eligible because I had been primarily self-employed for the majority of my life. I appealed as many times as I could, but never got it. Needless to say I was bummed. This country promotes the concept of "freedom of enterprise" and then they pull something like that.
