I agree,Matt.I wouldn't swap later axles under a early w300 either(but I did put a d60f in my 68 w200 and love it).I would rather drive the newer truck as is,and the older truck as is.
I can understand the disk brake upgrade in the old w300,as new drums just arent available.
As for the 6bt swap,it looks like a lot of work...
