Just take it off and clean it out and rebuild if condition warrents. I pulled mine after the WV rally to remove the mud, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it needed cleaning anyway. I sealed the end bells with a tiny bead of black silicone. our fathers knew that a good cleaning once in a while never hurts and extends the life of the component. Dave.
