the brakes in the dodges were obsolete at the time they were put on the trucks. i heard that it had something to do with patents. for sure, they can be made to work properly, but since they are fixed anchor, non adjusting they require more attention than other axles. i know there are purists out there, but once i changed out to helitool discs and a modern master cylinder i would never consider a truck with stock brakes. confidence and safety is much improved.
