i had luck removing the stock battery tray and installing group 27 or 31 batteries with marine type terminals. i cleaned and painted the interior, installed a cut piece of rubber mudflap in the bottom and then installed wood blocking to keep the batteries centered and fixed. installed a second piece of cut mudflap on top of the batteries to keep any metal or the lid from making contact. never had a problem. i like the spray on the terminals to keep corrosion down. starts clean, stays clean
