I cant help you with steering columns. Hopefully, someone here will jump on that.
If your truck ran before you changed the engine harness, and wont run now, you have a issue somewhere. Go over all connections and grounds to be sure they are good. Check connectors to be sure you did not bend a pin.
Or maybe the harness you swapped is bad and has a broken wire ? In this case, actually pin pointing the wiring harness problem after a harness swap is near impossible with9out being able to do a hands on.
