If the prep is done correctly for powdercoating, it will outlast paint. Some big car and bike builders in Ca are starting to use powdercoat as a base VS primer. My oldest daughter raced quads for 5 years, motocross and TT. I built six quads for her in those five years and the only top coat that withheld the dirt,mud and asphalt was powdercoat. Just my .02 but I only used one company that has been coating for many years.
