The latest batch of Probationary Firefighters from our drill school has hit the streets. Among them is a former Navy SEAL. His first shift a few days ago he got a ripping apartment fire.
All the Seattle Times reporter knew was that he was a veteran, and that it was his first shift in operations.
He was asked how he felt about being a firefighter with the city of Seattle .vs the military.
His response was:
"This is great! I can believe how lucky I've been. My first shift in the Fire Department and I get a big fire. My first shift as a operational SEAL I got to shoot three people. I've been very fortunate..."
I think his probationary year will go pretty smoothly.
