Anyway, it'll catch whatever it catches. In the filter bowl there is a fine screen at the pump body above the bowl. Couldn't hoit.
Though it may be there to "magnetize the fuel". Harmless and ineffectual, some charlatans sell magnets for fuel lines. Might as well pour snake oil into your tank.
