The flat heads were put in because they were the best option in 1941-60. The /6 was used in lots of heavy trucks, besides the pick-ups.

So, anybody here have personal experience at driving both a flathead FFPW vs a /6 Sweptline?

Can't the Jeep cranks and blocks mix and match, ending up with a 4.8 erso straight six? Hook to an overdrive five speed...
