So just exactly what kind of workmanship would you expect from a guy who would built a project that would make Baby Jebus weep?
That said, in my prowling of dismantlers looking for a steering box that might work on a FFPW, A Datsun truck was a possibility. Long vertical output shaft, could be mounted above the frame. Pitman arm would swing in horizontal plane, and box would have to mount forward of axle. No room for the battery. but would give greater freedom of column angle and location.
