Even though he's a Democrat, Harry Reid's a pretty good friend of the mining industry. Better than a lot of Republicans. Don't know about the rest of his policies, but what's good for Nevada mining is also good for Idaho mining. Maybe if California gets broke enough, they'll even start allowing significant mining again.
