Lossly tie the steering wheel so the front wheels will track straight forward. I used bungie cords. Gave the wheel the ability to turn a little but always went back to straight forward position.
Disconnect the driveshafts from the rear and front differentials and or, if you have locking hubs in front, unlock them.
When I flat towed my 53 PW(hyway towing for 4 hours), I checked the axles/hub area for heat.
it is a great idea to put on at least one 3/8" chain from the tow vehicle to the towed vehicle. Use a high strength chain for towing.
