I know what you mean, a few years ago my expedition had a miss. the wierd thing is it did not creat a code..
The mech, a guy in his twentys, was ready to give up, this was after I paid for a tune up. I had him take off one coil pack at a time, intil we got to the cylinder that was not firing, it turned out to be a bad injector. He had never thought of doing that to find out which cyl was not firing. and us old farts, that is the first thing we do, short out the plugs one at a time, until we find the dead guy.
