"This is just my opinion", but I was wanting to learn to weld a few years ago. A very good friend, (welder, machinist, fabricator), told me not to waste money on the small welders because I soon would not want to have to wait for the machine to catch up. He said to buy the biggest machine I could afford. I didn't understand exactly, but I listened to him and I bought a Lincoln 225 Wire feed. It does a fantastic job on everything I expect to ever want to do on a truck or on a construction job. Not saying it has to be a Lincoln, I'm sure the Miller is a great machine. But buy the biggest one you can justify.
