I would get the 4 gallons I used more than 2 on my m37. There is a synthetic olive drab now www.tm9ordnanace.com I have not had any experience with it I used Gillespie it is ok but it is a soft paint and from what a lot of people have told me is to stay away from Avero because it gets chalky from the sun the number one thing I would recommend is epoxy primer do to the standard military paint is not very protective
