help needed on 220 volt motor in my pw shop > its a older motor for my compressor but it turns in the wrong direction ! on the motor it says switch wires 5 and 8 . I see a wire 8 but the other numbers are obliterated i see a 2 and a L . I have gooooogled many sites and its says the same thing switch basically switch the wires > i do not want to play multiple choice as there is a $hit pile of wires to mess with in the motor box i want the motor turn not make smoke > any way to find out what the magic is in the numbering and were each wire goes with a meter if not i will have to take this motor in to a electrical shop and wait a few days and at my age a few days could be the limit lol ~ Copey and again thanks to any who answer my questions and for your assistance this forum is great for its help
