Town Wagon Rear side slidding window seals

I got some Subburban Rear window seals today from metro.
Yeah they work if you glue them onto the outside of the window to body indent surrounding the slidding glass.
Are these slidding windows supposed to be an improvement over the roll up and down ones in the carryalls from WW2?
They do have less parts although they still leak all over and nobody has the right seals.I guess I would prefer messing with 8 funky drain hoses and cracked seals over messing with 6 regulators and missing parts.
Well these seals are going back!!!
