6v53 is really big for a PW and if in a mid 1930s truck was swapped in after the truck was produced as the first production GMC two-stroke diesel was the 6-71(inline 6 at 426 cu.in., another "Mopar" displacement), first offered in 1938.
Chris, yes an Al block 3-53 was in Gama Goat and 3-53 is probably the best size of Detroit for a PW. 4-53 could be done but would probably require some nose or firewall mods and it's heavy.
