They can be nasty to get lined up on all 12 studs. Here is how I do it by myself with little trouble.
I have a transmission adapter for me floor jack. I first measure the angle of the differential flange where the studs are. Measure this very carefully with a inclinometer. Then I adjust my transmission adapter to exactly the same angle, now its just a matter of proper elevation and pushing it in straight. If your angle is off, things get messed up bad.
