But a couple years ago some over-zealous Environmental Officer at the base did a study that got the range declared a Superfund Clean Up Site. That is supposedly only for closed/abandoned sites. So it was up to the chain of command whether to allow continued usage. Went clear up to the Commandant of the Marine Corps before getting the Nope, Never.
