I thought of it, sort of.
I kept the magnetic strips out of a refrigerator door seal. They slipped right out of the vinyl seal once the corners were cut open. I though they would make excellent movable masking tape. But all I've used them for in two years was to stick plans on to the end of my tool box. But the price was right, and I don't have to feed them.
