The advantage of a diesel is longevity. They outlast gassers, pure and simple. Add in the extra torque and better fuel mileage and the swap becomes even sweeter.
The torque peak is almost right off idle in a diesel, too. So moving a loads, running larger tires and maintaining speed is easier.
The only downside is finding a 4bt!
