Hi,
I am still in the process of redoing the rear brakes on my 1967 W300 CC.
For those of you that read my other post about brake pad thickness. I found a set of correct shoes. Centric is the manufacturer and the part number is 111.03200. I now have a set of new Chinese rear shoes to match my Taiwanese front shoes I got from VPW's.
Anyhow, one of my questions is in regards to the rear wheel bearings. When I disassembled everything the bearings and hubs had no sign of grease anywhere. From what I read in the service manual the wheel bearings should be packed with grease. Should I pack them or will the diff lube take of them?
Also, how should the brake shoes be installed? One has a longer brake pad than the other. I think someone in a previous post said to put the shoe with the longer pad towards the rear of the truck. The reseason I am asking is because my truck had the shoe with the longer pad facing toward the front of the truck.
Thanks
