I think Paul also elaborated on this. If you want single rear wheels you need to find the single rear wheel hubs with the flange offset to the outside. This moves the wheel center line out to the center of the wheel well. You can't turn the hub around because you have different size bearings and the casting is not designed to do that, you must change the hub out. Bearing are the same. My rear Dana 70 measures 71 1/2" wheel mounting flange to wheel mounting flange with the single rear wheel hubs. The front axle measures 72". The dual hubs are 4" narrower on each side.
