I think I've discovered the source of my excess fuel consumption. The automatic choke is not opening the whole way.In this cold weather the bi-metalic strip never unwinds
far enough to allow the butterfly completely verticle. The old engine's(360)choke controll had a nut and set screw in order to make this adjustment but the 440's doesn't and I can't seem to find one that does.I really like the way the factory automatic choke works on these when properly adjusted.Does anybody know of a parts supplier that has the good one for a big block?NAPA and Advance do not.
Thanks in advance,
Ross
