Interesting. These were the bias TSLs? Michelin 9.00 and 11.00R16 XLs are really good in deep snow. Fair on ice; the best tire on ice is a wimpy looking all-terrain or all-season tire with lots of little edges and sipes, preferably with studs. The XLs do OK because the rubber compound in the tread is soft.
The tread design of the big Michelins is sort of similar to Swampers.
I'd guess the 11.00-16 Boggers would be fantastic in deep snow.
