I replaced the cab and box on a 1991 Dodge 4X4, Cummins Turbo Diesel with ones from a 1987 Dodge 2X4, gas engine truck. Probably the only problem that you may have is the clearance in the cab floor. The 4X4 trucks have a higher hump in the floor to clear the transfer case. I cut the floor humps out of both cabs, making the cutout from the 4X4 truck about 1-inch larger, and simply pop riveted the 4X4 hump into the 2X4 cab. It worked great. You will probably have to replace the wiring harness in the dash, which is a BEAR. My daughter did this for me because she has much smaller hands. The final product appears totally stock and has all the options (power windows and locks, cruise control, air conditioning). Good luck with your project.
